"Let's say you're living life without the thought of death and the angel of death says: 'Come, it's time to go'.
And you say 'But no, you're supposed to give me a warning so I can decide what I want to do with my last week, I'm supposed to have one more week.'
Do you know what death will say to you?
'I've given you your whole life'."
One of the books I listened to recently on Audible is The Wisdom of Sundays: Life Changing Insights from Super Soul Conversations. It's snippets of conversations with Oprah and several guests on her Super Soul Sunday series. The above quote, I found rather poignant and had to immediately pause the conversation so I could scribble it in my journal.
We think we have so much time. We think if we want and expect to live into our 80's and 90's that we will, but we don't realize that our fate is not under our control and today could be the day, or tomorrow.
The objective to life is, in fact, the cliché, "live each day like it's your last". If there's something you've always wanted to do and haven't for one reason or another, start planning actionable steps to get there and do it. Start now.
Four or five years ago I went to a particular car wash regularly and the cashier was an older lady, not too old but older, and we got on the subject of travel and she was telling me how she's always dreamed of going to the Grand Canyon. I asked her why she hasn't gone as it's only about a 6 hour drive from here. She shrugged and muttered something about life, priorities, work, etc. It wasn't too long after that conversation when I went back to the car wash each week and noticed she wasn't working. Finally, I asked the lady behind the counter where she was and she said she passed away. My first thought was "But she didn't get to the Grand Canyon!". I'll never forget that conversation and that lesson she gave me.
Also, to prep for Manifesting March on the horizon, I was listening to this motivational audio by Earl Nightingale today, which details the power of positive thinking, what you think you become, and the law of attraction. I don't want to give too much away, just listen to it! There's a 30 day challenge he gives you in the audio that I think would benefit anyone, especially if you're one of those people who complain all the time about everything. I mean that in the nicest way. :)
